Service Saves Money
In today’s world the need for having a cutting edge and properly functioning computer is paramount. Strangely enough most computer users assume, or are under the impression, that fully replacing a computer when it has minor or major problems is the quickest and most cost effective way to resolve an issue and get back up and running. Most of the time, this is NOT TRUE!
Here are several reasons why completely replacing a computer, in most cases, is not the most cost effective and time saving option, in comparison with simply repairing the hardware or resolving a nagging software issue.
- When you use our onsite services to resolve a computer issue statistically our average service duration is between 1-2 hour for almost 90% of service requests. At our current pricing that would almost always ensure that your maintenance costs are under $200 for home and business issues. Given the fact that the average laptop or desktop computer cost about $499 or more (without additional software or extended warranties included) our maintenance costs keep you well within the limits of compromising the value of your equipment.
- Regarding individual computers, don’t forget that your computer is worth far more than just the actual equipment. Most computer users not only have valuable software purchases and licensing such as Microsoft Office or Norton Antivirus, but they also have a wealth of personal or business data which also possesses value and can cost money to replace or transfer to a new computer in comparison with simply repairing. If you were to replace your computer you would not only be looking at the cost of the actual new computer, but the cost of equipment, new software licensing for things such as productivity software and virus protection on top of the labor costs and downtime associated with getting all data transferred and all existing equipment, such as printers and your network settings, reinstalled and reconfigured.
- Lastly is small to large corporate computer environments. These are typically the most non-cost effective environments to replace computers frequently vs. maintenance. Simply put there are many variables and tasks that arise when replacing a users computer on the network. Tasks such as reconnecting and reconfiguring a users computer back to a server domain or reconfiguring a remote access connection,VPN or network printer. These tasks take a fair amount of time and almost always need outside help to accomplish.
In conclusion, are we saying it’s not ok to purchase a new computer for your home or office? NO. We are simply saying that your existing computer is worth far more than just what it cost at the time of purchase. Routine maintenance and occasional repair in most cases is cheaper than replacement in the long run and most importantly save you time resulting in saving you more money.
